HerCauWer winner of the Best Practice Award 2023

Last Friday 3 November was the day: the winner of the Best Practice Award 2023 was announced during the IWA Resource Recovery Conference in Shenzhen, China.
Out of 19 submissions, the consortium led by KWR (NL) was selected as the winner with the project ‘HerCauWer’. Part of this project ferric sludge – a residual from drinking water treatment – is chemically treated, next used for phosphate removal from municipal wastewater. A marvelous example of upcycling, ‘turning residuals into resources’! Further details will follow soon.
The Best Practice Award is a joint initiative of Allied Waters and AquaMinerals.
